Twelve Malayalam Pads™

It's hard to find anything commercial that teaches Malayalam to kids. I really like this pad and most of the words are easy to recognize. I do speak Malayalam, but not as fluently as I would like. My only criticism is that some of the words used here are a bit obscure. I would like to see more like this, but with more common words. Some of these words are words that my husband and I have never used in conversational Malayalam. For example, the word given for fish is definitely not a word we ever used for fish. Other than that criticism, we absolutely love the tablet.

My ammachi taught me my ABCs and also tried to teach me the Malayalam alphabet. At some point the latter teachings were derailed and of course, there are very hard to find any formal classes. I had recently purchased a set of flash cards, but because they didn’t feature the English phonetic writing of each word, it was hard to get good use of them. Then I saw this pad on instagram and thought it could be perfect. I didn’t buy at first but when I saw an ad again a month later, I decided to take the plunge. From the moment I turned on the pad, I knew this would be my path to Malayalam literacy. The creators have thought of everything that one could need to master the basics and they’ve found a way to cram it ALL into the space of the pad. I already know that I can finally learn the writing of my mother tongue and I’m excited to send this to my cousin’s kids. This is a transformative educational tool, highly recommend.

The colorful visuals and clear audio make the learning process smooth and enjoyable. Malayalam Pad™ is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to learn Malayalam in a fun and engaging way.

Kiddos love the Music mode, and I appreciate the variety of categories that teach them basic words.

A wonderful addition to our home. My kids are more excited than ever to learn Malayalam.
